I am an award-winning designer, sewing fabricator, and educator specializing in exquisite custom soft furnishings. With years of experience, I teach both aspiring makers and seasoned professionals the art of sewing with precision and creativity.
My classes cover everything from designing and sewing pillows and bedding to mastering sewing techniques that enhance efficiency and reduce strain on your body. Sewing has always been my creative outlet, and I’m passionate about helping others refine their skills, work smarter, and create with confidence.
Since 1987, Designs by Donna has proudly served clients across the U.S. and beyond. Our studio, located in Flowery Branch, GA, just outside of Atlanta, has welcomed students from across the country and around the world for hands-on instruction and workshops.

One of my favorite quotes from Zig Ziglar is, “You can get everything in life you want if you will just help enough other people get what they want.” These words have always resonated with me and reflect my passion for helping creative makers grow—not just in their sewing skills but also in their confidence and well-being.

I aim to empower you with the knowledge and confidence to bring your creative visions to life while maintaining balance and joy in the sewing room.

February 28, 1997, is a milestone worth remembering. It was the day we sealed the deal on a property to relocate my business. Transitioning my business from our home to its dedicated space marked a significant step forward. I am also an educator and have presented seminars for the Custom Home Furnishings Conference, WCAA, Vision, Designers Workroom Council, and several workroom associations across the United States. I also regularly contribute and share my knowledge in trade magazines and in workroom industry groups. I am currently the Past President of the WCAA Atlanta Chapter.
I balance my schedule and life through a daily yoga practice and quality family time.
